Washing:

Use cool or warm water (ideally between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius, or 85 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit) and a gentle detergent. Skip harsh chemicals and fabric softeners – flannel naturally softens over time. Wash with similar colors on a delicate cycle for best results.

Minimize Shrinkage:

Flannel can shrink, especially during the first wash. To minimize this, consider pre-washing flannel garments in cold water.

Drying:

Air drying is ideal, but tumble drying on low heat works too. To minimize ironing, remove the flannel from the dryer slightly damp and smooth it out.

Extra Tips:

Flannel tends to shed some lint, especially during the first few washes. Wash with similar fabrics or use a lint roller before wearing.

Consider adding half a cup of vinegar to the wash cycle to help reduce shedding.
